Tiree – Scotland

Tiree is the most westerly island in the Inner Hebrides of Scotland and is recognised as having the most amount of sunny days out of the UK! Perfect for getting outdoors on your SUP! Although it is quite a way to get to, Tiree has loads of beaches to ensure that you will get water time whatever the conditions – if you’re lucky you may catch some killer waves! You won’t be disappointed!

Bamburgh – Northumberland

Home to one of the UK’s most iconic castles and voted one of the top places to surf in the North East, it’s hard to find a reason not to pack up your SUP and head over there! On mellow days the dramatic shoreline entices surfers and water-sports enthusiasts – ideal for getting out on the water

Sauton Sands – Devon

Sauton Sands is a huge stretch of beach on the Devon coastline. The slow-ish waves nearer the shore are perfect for beginners and learning the basics of SUP surfing. Because Saunton sands is so big that even on busy days on the beach there’s likely to be enough waves for everyone! There’s also a lot of places to camp so you can make a weekend of it! Cayton Bay is 3 miles south of Scarborough and boasts a magnificent wide sweeping bay backed by cliffs and a quiet beach. Popular with surfers it’s the perfect place to test out your SUP whilst exploring the Yorkshire coastline. Grab some fish and chips afterwards to warm up after a day on the sea!

Porthcawl, Glamorgan – Wales

Rest Bay is a popular beach with miles of fine quality golden sand, clean water and mellow waves making it an excellent place for SUP surfing beginners! Rest Bay offers the most consistent break, with well-formed peaks, whilst Coney beach offers more shelter.
