This week we spoke to Vanessa & Raffy about their 6 Favorite SUP Spots in Europe. They travel the world in their van with 2 Bluefin Paddleboards on the roof – what a life! Check out some of the amazing places they have paddles and take note of these awesome paddling locations.
We have travelled all over Europe with our campervan for months and of course, we had our Bluefin SUPs on board. On our trip, we paddled quiet bays, crowdy city beaches, from rivers surrounded by mountains and to glacier lakes. Each of them was stunning and beautiful, but we wanted to share them with you!
#1 Lovatnet, Norway
This glacier lake is located in the middle of amazing mountain scenery and the water of the glacier lake is beautiful clear blue. You can watch waterfalls running down the mountainside whilst submerged in nature.
Also, there are campsites that are perfectly position on the lake, where you can get into the water easily and have a nice cold beer after your paddle adventures.
Even if you just want to go out for a few hours you can easily park up your car next to the lake and paddle from there.
#2 Aurlandsfjord, Norway
If you want to paddle on a breathtaking fjord of Norway, this the place to go!
The water is very calm and the view over the fjord is stunning. You can even be lucky to spot some porpoises crossing your way.
#3 Cala Granadella, Spain
Cala Granadella is a beautiful quiet bay, with crystal clear water. I know that even if you go in the height of Summer, you will be met with a quiet beach. You have to take quite a detour to get here, but it’s worth it to have it to yourself.
#4 Valencia Beach, Spain
In Valencia, you can catch some waves with your SUP and then paddle all the way down the coast. The beach is located next to the city, so it’s super easy to get there. The view over to Valencia from your board is awesome. After paddling you can have a nice cold shower at the beach and then chill at a beach bar to watch the sunset.
#5 Benagil Cave, Portugal
This is a spot that you should not miss. If there’s one place to paddle you need to paddle it is Benagil Cave. It a more advanced paddle spot – so make sure your leash and PFD on.
You can only get to the cave by boat, swimming or paddling. Just make sure you check the tides before paddling there!
#6 Walensee, Switzerland
This lake in the west of Switzerland is surrounded by a beautiful mountain landscape.
The water is clear and you can park just in front of the lake and launch your board easily. There is a little island there that you can explore. You can even grab a free and hot shower at the little lake café after paddling.
If you are looking for breathtaking views, fun on the water and new spots to go out with your Bluefin SUP you should check out these spots!
